Corrosion-resistant refrigerators
I am helping to research a problem for residents of an island off the coast of
Virginia. Fishermen and crabbers use refrigerators in their work. As I
understand it, the refrigerators are outside and exposed to salty air.
According to a resident, the refrigerators last no longer than a year since
the metal parts corrode so quickly. Both the cost of new refrigerators and
generation of waste are significant problems. Does anyone have suggestions for
corrosion-resistant refrigerators? Has the Navy done anything in this area?
Thanks.
