OECD Wast Min Policy Case Studies
On behalf of the USEPA, we are researching non-EU (e.g., Austrialia,
Canada, Hungary, Poland, New Zealand, Turkey, Korea, Japan, Mexico) OECD member
countries' approaches to waste mnimization. Specifically, we are
developing case studies that will include:
1. a description of the general waste management structure
2. a description and analysis of waste minimization efforts either voluntary or
regulatory (types of wmin instruments include: waste disposal
charges, product charges, deposit/refund, liability of polluters,
extended producer responsibility, environmental reporting,
environmental plans, recycling/waste reduction targets, pilot
projects, information dissemination, ecolabelling, grants, taxes)
If you have any information or points of contact that you can share
with us, we'd really appreciate your assistance. Please contact
Kris Tensuan at 703-318-4770, or Dina Li. Thanks!
