We had a very successful case of solvent recycling (sort of "secondary" P2), at a facility that manufactures vinyl parts for the automotive industry. They installed an incredibly efficient solvent recycling unit which greatly reduced their primary hazardous waste stream (they almost dropped from an LQG to an SQG). 99% of the solvent gets recycled and is reused inhouse, and the still bottoms are not characteristic for haz. waste.
The unit also greatly reduced solvent purchase. Between purchase and disposal savings alone (i.e not a thorough cost accounting), the company is saving over half a million dollars a year! It's not source reduction, but you can't argue with the results.
