RE: Info on Awards/Recognition P2 Programs

Rob --

Here's a quick answer to your request for info on P2 Awards programs (I'll
send you a more detailed answer soon).

Check out our web page at http://www.sbcapcd.org

We have a section on the web page devoted to the Green Awards - we present 5
Green Awards each year during Pollution Prevention Week. This was our fifth
year. Each year it just gets better and better - the award has been
described by one winner as a "community treasure". Santa Barbara is a small
town and word travels fast - companies are very proud to win the Green
Award. The award program is a lot of work, even divided among the 4 Green
Award Consortium members, but every year at the awards luncheon we are
reminded how worthwhile all the hard work is. This year one of the award
winners specifically mentioned in her acceptance speach that the Green Award
itself is an inspiration for the company to do more and find new ways to
reduce pollution. Not bad, if you ask me.

Also look at the "What's New" section on our web page to see the press
release we sent out for the Green Award winners this year. We received good
coverage in the local papers and on our local tv news.

Let me know if you have any questions.
