water chestnut eradication



Hi Friends,

First a question, then an announcement -- which I hope is alright!

Question: A pond is plagued by water chestnuts and the plan to eradicate
involves pelleted 2-4 D.  Children swim in the pond. What alternatives do
you know?

Announcement: MASSACHUSETTS TOXICS USE REDUCTION PROGRAM WINS INNOVATIONS
IN AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AWARD

WASHINGTON, October 14, 1999 – Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction, 
the statewide program to prevent toxic waste pollution, was named 
one of 10 winners of the Innovations in American Government Awards, 
the Ford Foundation announced today.  The program will receive a 
$100,000 award and recognition as one of the nation’s best examples 
of government performance.
