S.C. Position Opening


The Center for Environmental Policy at the University of South Carolina's Institute of Public Affairs invites applications for a Senior Research Associate position to conduct basic and applied research in areas related to environmental health, environmental law, and environmental decision-making.  Expertise that spans the areas of environmental risk, public policy, environmental economics and law is essential.  Strong quantitative skills are desirable.

Candidates should have demonstrated skills in research, proposal development and project management. The ability to analyze issues, weigh options and reason verbally is essential as are excellent written and communication skills, flexibility and the capacity to complete tasks among competing priorities.  Candidates with applied or practice-related experience are preferred.  

An appropriate terminal degree in law, policy, or environmental health science is required.  Candidates who hold a doctoral degree in environmental health science or other closely related scientific discipline as well as a law degree will be given preference.  Opportunities for faculty appointments and teaching assignments within the School of Public Health, the School of the Environment or the Law School exist depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.  Salary is competitive.
