Dental Office Mercury Data

In response to Thomas Barron's questions:
You can obtain information about the amounts of amalgam captured in
vacuum systems from: Metropolitan Council Environmental Services,
Industrial Waste Section, 230 East Fifth St., St. Paul, MN 55101, (612)
602-4708. They did a report in 1996: "Evaluation of Mercury and Dental
Amalgam Discharged to a WWTP." There's a very good chance that Western
Lake Superior Sanitary District will have information also: 2626
Courtland St., Duluth, MN 55806-1894, (218) 722-3336.

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority/Medical, Academic and
Scientific Community Organization Mercury Work Group has a database of
the mercury content of more than 8,000 chemicals, including cleaning
products. Call (617) 241-2347 for more information.
