Job Announcement

My apologies for cross-posting this job announcement.  A rare opportunity
exists to join Nevada's statewide pollution prevention technical assistance
program.  The position opening is in the Reno program office.  Those of you
who attended the National Roundtable's '97 Lake Tahoe fall conference know
how close we are to Tahoe and the outdoor recreation opportunities of the
Sierras.  We're seeking someone with good regulatory and technical P2
knowledge and commitment.

Pollution Prevention Technical Specialist for the Nevada Small Business
Development Center/Business Environmental Program.  Minimum Bachelorís
degree in engineering, physical sciences, or related field.  Minimum two
years experience in environmental management or with an environmental
regulatory agency.  Requires excellent interpersonal, communication, public
speaking, and writing skills.  Concepts of pollution prevention and waste
reduction techniques essential.  Understanding of regulatory structure and
regulations affecting small business imperative.  Applicant must possess
knowledge of processes and operations typically used by industry and small
businesses (drycleaning, automotive/autobody repair) and the waste streams
generated.  Must be proficient or possess the ability to become proficient
in Microsoft Office products and the Internet.  Successful candidate should
be prepared to apply for  Nevada certification as Certified Environmental
