P2 positions available
Sorry for the cross postings, NDEQ has asked for a broad distribution of
the following notices of available positions (in Lincoln, I believe):
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality has three openings in the
Division of Environmental Assistance. The Division of Environmental
Assistance is primarily non-regulatory and consists of the following
programs: Pollution Prevention; Nebraska Environmental Partnerships;
Small Business Assistance; One-Stop Permit Assistance; and, Community
Right to Know. Additionally,the Division houses a planning position
that assists programs across the Department with planning activities.
1. Environmental Assistance Coordinator, this position is responsible for
coordination of the Department's P2 Program. The person filling this
position will provide on-site P2 assessments and provide compliance
assistance to Nebraska businesses and communities. Additionally, the
position will be responsible for developing and enhancing partnerships with
organizations involved in providing P2 and other assistance based services.
The position will be responsible for the coordination of the DEQ P2 Team
and coordinating P2 training. The person filling the position must have
experience in team building, presentation skills and strong written and
verbal communication skills.
2. Environmental Assistance Coordinator, this position is responsible for
coordination of the Department's Nebraska Environmental Partnership Program
(NEPP.) The NEPP provides environmental assistance to small communities.
The person filling the position will conduct or facilitate numerous public
meetings. The person will be required to make public presentations and be
responsible for all NEPP outreach activities. The position will be
responsible for applying for and managing state and federal grants and
related contracts. Coordination of various organizations, local, state,
federal, and NGOs will be a primary responsibility. Supervision of NEPP
volunteers will be requited. Must have strong written and verbal
communication skills, knowledge of small community dynamics and experience
in team building.
3. Environmental Quality Program Specialist, this position is responsible
for coordinating various planning efforts within DEQ. Planning will be
associated with the Nebraska Environmental Partnership Program, Small
Business Assistance Program, Pollution Prevention, Community Right to Know,
and various Water Quality Division planning efforts. Planning activities
will also include other Departmental programs. The person filling the
position will be required to draft, review and implement various strategic
plans. Strong written and verbal communications skills a must!
