Timerosal destruction

Reference: Thimerosal destruction

Timerosal containing antiseptics were banned , for first
aid use . (Merthiolate is one commonly used at home).
The  "shelf remaining material" (drugstore surplus) is
beeing collected and will have to be destroyed.
No other permmited practical use can be visualized.
    This chemical (Timerosal) contains mercury
in the composition (chemical name is Mercurate(1),ethyl
    {2-(mercapto-kappa S)benzoate(2-)-kappa O}-,sodium .

                             Need help:
      1) Incineration most probably will generate mercury in
the stack . Thus not recommended.
      2) Land fill , we would like to avoid it. Although it is
          solid material.
      3) We are looking for ideas in the chemical  reaction
          procedures. or alternative use.
