Re: Thimerosal destruction

Thimerosal has also been used as a preservative in certain vaccines since
the 1940's - for example hepatitis B, diphtheria, pertussis and acellular
pertussis,  tetanus and HIB vaccines (and others).

Thimerosal free versions are available.  I am not sure if or to what extent
the thimerosal containing vaccines are still being used, recalled, disposed
of, etc.

Search on "mercury vaccines" or "thimerosal" or "thimerosol" for lots of
articles on this subject.
