Folks --

"Environmental Progress" is one of the preeminent journals dealing with the
broad intersection between the environmental and chemical engineering
disciplines. It does a good job of bridging the gap between "pure" research
and industrial application, and hence is geared towards people who must
implement the results of cutting edge research in the real world. Recent
issues have dealt with environmental lifecycle analysis and related topics
relevant to those working on P2 and DfE related research. Some recent
papers include:

Process Analysis via Waste Minimization: Using DuPont's Methodology to
Identify Process Improvement Opportunities
Kenneth L. Mulholland, James A. Dyer
Pollution Prevention Advances in Pulp and Paper Processing
Tapas K. Das, Ashok K. Jain

Sustainability: Waste Minimization, Green Chemistry and Inherently Safe
Kenneth L. Mulholland, James A. Dyer, Robert W. Sylvester
Sustainable Strategies Using Life Cycle Approaches
James A. Fava, Steven B. Young, Kevin Brady, Konrad Saur
Life Cycle Engineering Case Study: Automobile Fender Designs
Konrad Saur, Sabrina Spatari, James A. Fava
Environmental Comparison Metrics for Life Cycle Impact Assessment and
Process Design
Gregory Norris, Jane C. Bare, Dennis W. Pennington, Theresa Hoagland
I hope you'll consider the following "Call for Manuscripts" from Professor
Gary Bennett (see below), who has done an outstanding job of insuring
Environmental Progress' quality and relevance over the years. I also
encourage you to redistribute this call for manuscripts to co-workers and
colleagues who may be interested in publishing their work in this
outstanding journal.

Those of you not already familiar with Environmental Progress may wish to

Environmental Progress has been published quarterly by AIChE for 20 years.
Its readers are a mix of academic and practicing environmental engineers
(with the latter comprising 90% of the readership). Consequently, papers
are selected, in the main, to be of interest to the latter group.

Papers are published under the following section titles: Air Pollution,
Water Pollution, Hazardous Waste, Remediation, Pollution Prevention, and
Environmental Management.

Papers are peer reviewed with reviewers being drawn from both the academic
and industrial (practicing) communities.

If you wish to submit a paper, please send three (3) copies to Gary
Bennett, Editor at the Department of Chemical and Environmental
Engineering, the University of Toledo, Toledo, OH 43606. Receipt of each
paper will be acknowledged, and it will then be sent out for review.

If you wish more information, you may e-mail the editor at
