Hi Julie,

See http://www.sustainablehospitals.org for a large database of
alternatives to mercury, pvc, glutaraldehyde and latex in hospitals. There
are also guidances. That site has some good links to others.

A greate resources is http://www.state.ma.us/ota/otapubs.htm#eppnet with
full text of The Health Care Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP)
Network Information Exchange Bulletin. This bi-monthly newsletter
provides updates on health care environmental purchasing innovations from
across the country.

And... especially useful guidance and contacts are on
http://www.noharm.org/ Health Care Without Harm is an international
campaign for environmentally responsible health care. Their web site
contains a wide variety of information on pollution prevention,
environmentally safe alternatives, education about environmental and public
health impacts of the health care industry and solutions to problems in the

Hi All,

Aside from the EPA's 'Hospitals for a Healthy Environment' program, can you
recommend other good resources for background information on pollution
prevention and energy efficiency practices specific to the hospital industry?

Thanks Again, jks
