award this year.

For those of you who are interested in learning more about Audubon
International, this not-for-profit environmental organization focuses
on
protecting and enhancing wildlife habitat, conserving natural
resources,
and protecting water quality where people live, work, and play. Our
motto is "Helping People Help the Environment" which we do in three
	ways.

First, we educate. The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System is an
environmental education program for people that manage land. We
members
them about naturalizing their property to create habitat, using less
chemicals and water to manage lawns, and ensuring water is kept clean
through filtering and water testing. The System also has a
certification aspect. Once a number of standard management practices
are put into place, the property can apply for certification. Once a
property is certified in six categories, the property is designated
as a
	"Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary".

Second, we research. Research projects around the country are trying
to
determine the best way to manage property to protect the environment.
As an example, one project conducted on a golf course is trying to
determine how often tall grass areas should be mowed to create the
most
	animal diversity.

Third, we help with conservation projects. Experts in water quality
and
habitat management visit properties and make suggestions on how the
property should be managed in the short and long term.

Some of our members start with strong environmental programs. Some
members have very little knowledge about environmental stewardship
and
basic ecology. We work with people with the level that they are and
help them to improve their environmental management program.

programs, please visit our website at www.audubonintl.org. If you
have
further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

	Sincerely,

Jon, I believe that Audubon International has what sounds to be an
excellent program for Golf Courses which has been touted to reduce
water
	consumption by +/- 30 % ; pesticide use by +/- 60 % and created
	wonderful
non- nuisance animal preserves right on site!! It sounds like P2+ to
	me!! See
them at www.audubonint'l.org and check out Programs.

	        Greetings Fellow P2ists -

Anyone have any good information and/or links for P2 at golf
	courses?
	Any
information would be helpful, but especially that which deals
	with
	        "northern latitudes" golf courses.

	        Thanks -
