Re: Industry environmental initiative waning?

Hi All,

I would like to offer one example for consideration - the National
Environmental Performance Track (Performance Track) Program, one of
EPA's voluntary programs. Among other requirements, Performance Track
recognizes companies with implemented EMSs and P2 programs.

Performance Track has proposed regulatory incentives for members, but
for the most part these incentives have not been realized at the
facility level. For instance, the program offers "low inspection
priority", but can not guarantee this incentive at the State level. The
same may hold true for the proposed regulatory incentives published in
the Federal Register.

Most current Members are implementing P2 programs without much more
incentive then EPA recognition.

Follow this link to view the newly published Member Annual Reports,
which show pound for pound the reductions Performance Track members are
achieving (and the few EPA incentives or mandates associated with the
program):

Nicole
