Re: Perchlorate & USDW



Just as a point of clarification--perchlorate (used in explosives manufacturing) is an inorganic
ion, not a volatile organic compound (VOC) as the message below implies. (Some may have seen this
same error in a "Daily Grist" article).  Apparently there's some confusion with the dry cleaning
solvent perchloroethylene (PERC), which is a chlorinated solvent that--except for the chlorine
atoms--has virtually nothing in common with perchlorate.
