New Resource for P2/Technical Assistance Sites Working with the Chemical Industry

Title: Message
Colleagues --

Those of you who work for p2 or compliance assistance programs (public OR private) that serve businesses in the Chemical Process industries, may find some value in the news service recently launched by our site, http://www.chemalliance.org/.  A press release describing the new service is provided below.

In a nutshell, this can be used by any assistance web site to add regularly updated news about environmental training opportunities, conferences, or other news of interest to environmental managers in the chemical industry.   There is no charge for sites wishing to use this service.

For those of you not familiar with us, ChemAlliance is a free pollution prevention and compliance assistance resource developed for and by the Chemical Process Industries.  It provides tools for industry, regulators and technical assistance providers who wish to work together to improve the environmental and economic performance of facilities involved with the manufacture and distribution of chemical products.

Hope the new year treats you well!   Remember, if your program has any news (program announcements, training opportunities, etc) you'd like the Chemical industry to hear about, let me know and we'll make sure it gets into our news site.

ChemAlliance Launches Environmental News Service
ChemAlliance (www.chemalliance.org), a leading online source of environmental regulatory assistance for the chemical process industries, has developed a web service which provides machine-readable versions of its "ChemAlliance News" content.  This service is designed to make it easy for ChemAlliance partners to provide regularly updated news on their web sites, without the cost of maintaining an in-house news clipping service.  The service was originally developed to support the partnership between ChemAlliance and the SectorSTAR Batch and Specialty Chemical Sector Site (www.SectorSTAR.com).  The service was developed in collaboration with Terrachord, LLC, and the Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF), which operates SectorSTAR through a cooperative agreement with the US Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Policy and Environmental Innovation.

ChemAlliance news focuses on items of interest to environmental managers in the chemical manufacturing and distribution industry, as well as technical assistance providers who work with these industries.  Typical news items include workshop and conference announcements, regulatory updates, announcements of new regulatory, compliance assistance, or pollution prevention tools and software, and related items which deal with effective environmental management in the target industries.  ChemAlliance news is collected on an ongoing basis from a variety of sources, including the US EPA Federal Register Announcements and program offices, state and regional regulatory agencies, chemical industry trade associations, and business wire services.  Each item is reviewed for relevance by ChemAlliance staff and edited for use prior to publication.

Full documentation of the web service is provided at http://www.chemalliance.org/webservices/about_news.asp.
Currently, this service is available for use by any technical assistance provider (including federal, state and local governmental programs, NGO's and for-profit companies) which serves the chemical process and chemical distribution industries.  There is no fee for use by approved assistance providers, but prior permission is required from ChemAlliance and is subject to specific terms of use.  Permission to re-use this content can be obtained by contacting ChemAlliance (contact information provided below).

Organizations wishing to submit news releases for possible inclusion in the ChemAlliance news service can contact ChemAlliance using the information below, or can submit the item via the ChemAlliance feedback form which is located at http://www.chemalliance.org/Help/contact_us.asp
