water coolant for plastics extrusion operation

Did anyone on P2Tech work with Michigan DEQ's P2E2 Demonstration Program in 2001 and 2002. I am particularly trying to find specifics on the following attached demonstration project reported in the Great Lakes Roundtable Newsletter in Spring 2002.

This may be able to help a plastic extrusion company I am working with who would like to find an alternative to ethylene glycol as a coolant in their water for the hot plastics.

Any ideas of alternatives or recycling opportunities for the chemical alternatives would be greatly appreciated. I have thought of propylene glycol. Is this a HAP?
