Re: EMS vs. P2 Plan for Government Department

Heather,
I run the Waste Minimization Program at the University of Nebraska in
Lincoln. In a nutshell this program provides waste assessments of work
areas (primarily labs), assistance with researching alternative equipment
and/or chemicals, and funding for feasible waste reduction projects. If
you'd like to check out our Environmental Policy and other web resources
here is the link to that section of our webpage
http://ehs.unl.edu/Documents/WasteMin.cfm

As far as which one is better, I think that depends greatly on the
institution, how much they generate, and what they generate. Both have
good aspects.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any Pollution Prevention
seminars/workshops that are coming up this fall. What activities are going
on for P2 week?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has ezperience with Environmental Policy
development for a government department, and if you have a sense as to
whether an EMS or P2 plan is a better way to go?

Thanks,

Heather Paquet
