FW: Good news: FR notice out today: 4 draft EPP guides available for public comment!

A Federal Register notice was published today announcing the
availability for public review and comment of four draft Environmentally
Preferable
Purchasing (EPP) Guides. These guides provide information to federal
procurement officials in making EPP decisions that can help protect
human health and the environment. They include the following:

"Greening Your Purchase of Carpet: A Guide For Federal Purchasers"

"Greening Your Meetings and Conferences: A Guide For Federal Purchasers"

"Greening Your Purchase of Cleaning Products: A Guide For Federal
Purchasers"

"Greening Your Purchase of Copiers: A Guide For Federal Purchasers"

You may remember that earlier versions of these guides were issued in
2002, but were recalled following negative comments regarding the
guides' content and the lack of opportunity to review them.. This time,
EPA is providing revised guides in draft with a 60 day public comment
period, so all interested parties can provide their comments and
suggestions.

You may access these documents electronically through this link:

.gov/2004/04-14831.htm

At that point, you will see the Federal Register Notice as well as
information on getting copies of the draft guides and submitting or
viewing comments on the guides. We are also planning to post the draft
guides on our EPP web site.

We hope you find these guides useful, and welcome your reactions. For
more information on these guides, contact Terry Grogan at (202)
