FY06 Planned Compliance Assistance Activities from US EPA Regions available online
Each year, the US EPA Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance
(EPA OECA) compiles a database of compliance assistance projects being
planned by EPA regions and field offices. This information is collected
as part of the Integrated Compliance Information System (ICIS), and
consists of hundreds of records providing a short description of each
planned activity (which includes training sessions, compliance
assistance visitations, web site and printed product development, etc).
Records include information on the activity's scope, goals, target
region, target sector, and key environmental statutes impacted. A point
of contact is also provided for each activity.
Working in cooperation with the ICIS program, the National Environmental
Compliance Assistance Clearinghouse makes these records available on our
site each year so that those without direct access to ICIS may review
I've forwarded this announcement to this distribution in hopes of
prompting/facilitating collaborations within the Compliance Assistance
community, and between the CA community and the Pollution Prevention
We've organized the data by EPA Region (including HQ and field office
activities), Industry Sector, and Environmental Statute. So, for
instance, if you're interested in doing pollution prevention outreach to
the chemical manufacturing industry, you can review the 31
projects/activities that focus on that sector, and see if there are any
of them which may coincide with your goals or target region.
The planned Compliance Activities database is available here:
If you have any questions regarding this data, or the Clearinghouse in
general, please feel free to contact me.
