Subject: Help Recycling Bills on the Governor's Desk
Dear Gary,
CAW had a disappointing end to what could have been a landmark year for recycling, with our Bottle Bill Expansion ( SB 1625) and Carryout Bag Litter Reduction ( AB 2058) bills, among others, tragically stalling in the final hours of the legislature.
However, there still are some important, CAW-supported bills that made it to the Governor's desk. These bills are awaiting his signature or veto now and could use your support! Please consider faxing a support letter to the Governor's office.
- AB 1879 (Feuer): Updates California's Green Chemistry initiative, allowing California agencies to ban toxic chemicals from consumer products. Fax a letter.
- AB 1972 (DeSaulnier) and AB 2071 (Karnette): Prevents manufacturers from misleading consumers by falsely claiming their products decompose in the natural environment. Fax a letter for AB 1972 and for AB 2071.
- AB 2347 (Ruskin): AB 2347 creates a collection system for old mercury thermostats. Fax a letter.
- SB 1313 (Corbett): Phases out toxic perfluorocarbons from food packaging. Fax a letter.
