SG-W:/ Traver Creekshed



Development pressures in Traver Creekshed are increasing, and Friends of
Traver Creek would welcome any assistance.  Involvement or expertise with
Ann Arbor Township development issues in the creekshed would be very
welcome.

Upcoming development issues directly along Traver Creek's Ann Arbor portion:

* July 20, 7:00 pm, Tuesday, 2nd floor Ann Arbor City Hall
Ann Arbor Planning Commission, Mechanical Dynamics/Traverwood plan.  Staff
recommends tabling for this meeting.  Three-story office building, 535-space
parking with a footbridge over the creek, corner of Huron Parkway and
Traverwood (northwest of Plymouth Rd).

* July 26, 7:00 pm, Monday
Informal meeting with Nielsen's (1021 Maiden Ln.) developer, Crosswinds, at
Holiday Inn, 3600 Plymouth Rd.  Look for "Crosswinds" on bulletin board to
find the meeting room.

* August 11, 7:00 to 8:30 pm, Wednesday
Friends of Traver Creek monthly meeting, at the Leslie Science Center, 1831
Traver Rd.

* August 17, 7:00 pm, Tuesday, 2nd floor Ann Arbor City Hall
Planning Commission public hearing on the Nielsen Square development, 1021
Maiden Ln.

* Date Unknown
Foxfire Phase IIC, redrawing of park parcel to include entire Traver Creek
floodplain and wetlands, north of Dhu Varren Rd.  Revised plans possibly
forthcoming late July.

This is a list of developments that include the creek, its wetlands, and
floodplain; more parcels are being developed in the creekshed.

Friends of Traver Creek is a creekshed stewardship group formed as part of
the Huron River Watershed Council's Adopt-a-Stream program.  We meet the
second Wednesday of each month, 7:00 p.m. at the Leslie Science Center.
