Managing your Woodlot for Profit & Pleasure  

The Forestry and Wildlife Assistance Program's of Southeast Michigan's
Conservation Districts will be holding a woodlot management workshop for
landowners on Saturday, March 25th, in Jackson, and Saturday, April 1st,
in Milan.  Dave Neumann, Forester from the Michigan Department of
Natural Resources, Andy Henriksen, Conservation District Forester, and
Dan Kennedy, Conservation District Wildlife Biologist, will be the

The workshops will cover timber management, wildlife management,
financial considerations and disease management.  The formal
presentations will last from approximately 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., followed
by a short field trip to a local woodlot to demonstrate some of the
management techniques.  Participants will be provided with general
reference information about timber and wildlife management.  

Whether you own 5 acres of timber, or 200 acres, this will be a great
opportunity to learn many techniques to increase your financial income,
beautify your property and attract wildlife.
