Re: SG-W:/ Newmarket, again!

These conversations are already occuring in Sylvan Township.  Residents feel
that they are completely unrepresented, while developers certainly are
represented. Planners seem to be planning without resident involvement most of
the time. I called the Village of Chelsea office and the person answering the
phone could not tell me when or where the village council meetings would be
held...she said I could read the minutes of past meetings in the paper
instead.  In Sylvan Township it was also very difficult just to get information
on when and where meetings were held and what committees were involved in
(influencing) planning - many small committees have formed where most issues
are really discussed and the public is not told even of their existence.  I am
trying to get more involved, but first, there is a lot to learn.
