SG-W:/ organizing and the elections

There have been a number of folks who have indicated interest in running for
office at the local level.  That's great and we need more of you.  There has
also been mention of trying to work together to formulate a plan for
success.  I am more than willing to try and facilitate any efforts that
people want to undertake.  I hope that others who are on this list and
are leaders in the smart growth effort will step forward to help make this
happen.

This will have to be a completely nonpartisan effort with no mention of
party politics.  There are good people who are members of every political
party and partisan politics will only get in the way of achieving success.
This is especially true at the local level.

It can be an effort to build strategies for getting the message out to
voters about what's at stake for the future in Washtenaw County.  It can
just be getting together and throwing out ideas.  It can be very informal or
very organized, depending on what you want.

Is there interest in doing something like this?
