The League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, (LCVEF) is a 501(c)(3)
research and educational organization dedicated to building the grassroots
power of the environmental movement to involve citizens in policy decisions
at all levels of American governance.  We develop innovative campaigns and
communication technologies, build pro-conservation coalitions, and train
environmental leaders on how to be strategic and successful participants in
the democratic process.


LCVEF seeks a dynamic and innovative professional for the position of
Regional Technical Manager for the Great Lakes Region based in Ann Arbor, MI
or Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. The person selected will work closely with the
Great Lakes Regional Director to expand LCVEF technical programs and
projects in the assigned region.

PRIMARY DUTIES: Work in coalition with state environmental and other
organizations under the direction of the program manager and regional
director to enhance voter participation, action networks, list enhancements,
and other technical and information processing projects; clean data and
manage regional list projects; organize regional circuit ride program,
including standardizing curriculum and organizing rides; coordinate queries
and data-pulls for coalition projects when requested by LCVEF co-workers;
work with the lead List Enhancement staff person and National Technical
Director on list project programs within the region; manage all processes
within accepted LCVEF, partner organization and legal privacy framework.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant for this position will
have a strong commitment to the environment, at least 4 years of related
experience, strong technical skills including proficiency in a database
programming language or in Perl (preferred); ability to parse name/address
data into a unified format; and ability to produce "cleaned," de-duplicated
data files on deadline. Working knowledge of the Internet and World Wide
Web. Applicants should hold a BA in a related field or equivalent
experience. Position requires use of a personal vehicle and approximately
20% travel including some overnight trips.
