If you are considering attending this meeting, keep this in mind.  Dr. Staley is from the Reason Public Policy Institute, which is a conservative, libertarian-oriented think tank.  His message will be predictable--the more development we have, the more money comes in.  Perhaps some should go to ask him some direct questions about the impact of develoment on infrastructure, schools, etc.

The Washtenaw Smart Growth Initiative is pleased to announce the next Growing Smart Lunch.
The lunch "Economic Impact of Residential Development" will feature national expert on housing economics Dr. Sam Staley from the Reason Public Policy Insitute.  He will discuss the issue of whether residential development pays for itself.
The lunch is scheduled for October 23rd at 11:30 a.m. at Weber's Inn.  The lunch is being sponsored by Atwell Hicks.
