SG-W:/ Better to plant a single tree than just sit in the darkness andcurse global climate change

Love trees?  Come plant some.

This Saturday the Drain Commissioner's Office and Pittsfield Township are
sponsoring a tree planting next to a wetland at the Township Hall. When
they're all grown up, these trees will provide shade, stormwater
treatment, wildlife habitat, cleaner air, and beauty. In the meantime
they'll provide a crew of enthusiastic volunteer tree planters a chance to
do something constructive for our community on a fine spring morning.

Here's an added bonus: take home a tree to plant at your house, courtesy
of the Drain Commissioner's Office.

* Date and Time:  Saturday May 3, 9-12 A.M.
* Location: Pittsfield Township Hall, 6201 West Michigan Ave. (@Platt)
* What to bring: Appropriate footwear, sunscreen, water, hat and gloves
* Trees: 150 seedlings of maple, cherry and other hardwoods
* Goal: Restore native forests, reduce stormwater pollution

Please contact Harry Sheehan to pre-register so he'll be able to better
plan for the event. Call 222-6851 or email at sheehanh@ewashtenaw.org.
