Michigan writer Alison Swan will keynote the annual membership meeting of
the Ecology Center on Sunday, March 28, 2004, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the
Concert Hall of the Vitosha Bed and Breakfast, 1917 Washtenaw Avenue (corner
of Berkshire), in Ann Arbor.
Ms. Swan writes poetry and prose about the natural world, Michigan, and the
Great Lakes. She is currently editing an anthology of womenıs creative
nonfiction about the Great Lakes and writing a collection of essays about
Michiganıs Upper Peninsula. She co-owns a bookstore in Saugatuck called
³Blue Rhino Books and Other Necessities,² and co-chairs Concerned Citizens
for Saugatuck Dunes State Park, an organization dedicated to the
preservation and expansion of Lower Michiganıs only rustic freshwater sand
dunes state park.
The Ecology Center annual meeting also includes program reports, annual
environmental awards, election of the Center's Board of Directors, and the
presentation of the first annual Herbert L. Munzel Award for Environmental
Activism. The meeting is open to the general public, and admission is free.

The Ecology Center is a regional nonprofit organization which promotes a
just and healthy environment through grassroots organizing, education,
advocacy, and demonstration projects. The Center is also the parent
organization of Recycle Ann Arbor.
