Dr. Whitman,
 
How have you been? I hope you remember me.  I used to be at University of 
Michigan and we met a few times at beach-related meetings.   I started 
assistant professor position here at OSU last year. I have a joint 
appointment at Environmental Health Sciences and Food Science & 
Technology.  My main research interests are studying waterborne and 
foodbore pathogens (sources, transport, fate, health impact) using 
molecular technology, especially new fecal indicators and rapid detection 
methods etc. 
 
There are two faculty openings at the Microbiology department and I'm 
helping the chair in finding best candidates. They're seeking candicates 
in the area of environmental microbiology, microbial ecology, and 
molecular biology. I thought you're the best person to ask. You may know 
someone or probably among your postdocs (2-year postdoc experience 
required). I hope this finds an excellent candidate. 
 
I also wanted to touch base with you on possible future collaboration when
