Learn to Use "Virtual Beach"
Hands-on Training Workshop (October 1st - SOLM/GLBA Conference, Milwaukee)

To Register, click HERE<https://doa.wi.gov/DNRSurveys/TakeSurvey.aspx?PageNumber=1&SurveyID=382>* Deadline is Monday, September 21.

Virtual Beach - Model Builder is free software that can be used to build and run statistical models for predicting recreational water quality in real-time. Concentrations of pathogen indicators such as E. coli can be "now-casted" according to meteorological, onshore, and near shore conditions.

If you would like to learn about Virtual Beach and see whether it could be used at your beach, there will be a free hands-on training workshop on October 1st at the Joint State of Lake Michigan - Great Lakes Beach Association Conference in Milwaukee (flyer attached).

The workshop will be conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Participants will be introduced to the software and receive hands-on training through a real-world case study. There will be two sessions:

    I Model Building -- 8:30-11:00 am
II. Model Evaluation and Nowcasting -- 1:00-3:00 pm

To Register, click HERE<https://doa.wi.gov/DNRSurveys/TakeSurvey.aspx?PageNumber=1&SurveyID=382>*

The workshop is part of the SOLM/GLBA conference and you must be registered for that conference to attend (http://aqua.wisc.edu/SOLM) . There is no additional cost for the training. Since space is limited, there is a separate on-line registration for the workshop. The deadline to register is next Monday 9/21.
