"Post Doctoral Research Associate position available January 1, 2010 at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. 

Environmental microbiology lab seeking a post-doctoral research associate to work on several coastal microbiology projects including microbial source tracking, recreational (beach) water quality, pathogen survival in the environment and ecology and characteristics of marine pathogens, specifically Vibrio spp. Other related areas of research may be developed. A second lab is NELAP accredited and focuses on analysis of several microbial indicators using standard methods for multiple agencies, providing opportunities to gain experience in lab accreditation and stringent QA/QC requirements.

Salary is competitive and cost of living is low in the area. Great coastal town with lots of recreational opportunities.

Requirements:
Ph.D. Microbiology or related field 
Strength in molecular techniques
Good interpersonal and leadership skills to work with both graduate and undergraduate students 
Excellent writing skills for grant writing and manuscript development".
