Ontario lawmaker wants to legalize public beachcombing; law varies across

Delay on water pollution rules stirs debate over environment, commerce

Wis. Gov. Scott Walker's proposed biennial budget calls for a two-year delay 
of new water pollution rules approved by the Natural Resources Board last 
year. The rules included a requirement that communities reduce the amount of

Testing for fish virus begins

Researchers are trying to determine if a deadly virus that can cause fish to 
bleed to death still poses a threat in Wisconsin's Lake Winnebago. They've 
developed an experimental blood test to detect antibodies in fish to gauge

The ferry system that serves Ontario's Pelee Island needs an $18-million 
upgrade to the Jiimaan ferry and an estimated $45-million replacement for
