High water levels in Lake Ontario start to drop

Owing to extraordinarily wet spring weather, Lake Ontario has been a foot 
above average. Officials have been maximizing the release of water from Lake 
Ontario into the St. Lawrence River, and the lake has dropped several inches

Great Lakes may beat Atlantic to offshore wind

States along the Atlantic coast are racing to be first in the country to put 
wind turbines offshore. But a group in Ohio says the first offshore wind 
farm in America isn't likely to be in the Atlantic but in the fresh waters 
of Lake Erie about 7 miles off the Cleveland coast. Source: National Public

Oil pipeline fix safeguards St. Clair River

The waters of the St. Clair River are a bit safer, thanks to Enbridge Inc. 
and U.S. Rep. Candice Miller, R-Harrison Township, Mich. The Calgary, 
Alberta, company finished work last week to replace part of an oil pipeline
