Ashland brook trout project gets funding

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation will be funding further study of Lake Superior brook trout next year. The Ashland Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office recently learned it would be awarded a $45,000 Bring Back the Natives grant from the foundation to support field season activities in 2012, including looking into the status, distribution, and threats to brook trout in the Lake Superior basin.
