Duluth Lakewalk sewage overflow tank gets to work

The concrete bunker along the Lakewalk in downtown Duluth, Minn., did its 
job Monday by stopping 2.5 million gallons of a mix of raw sewage and

Pump sucks algae from New York beach

A new technique for removing unwanted algae from beaches was devised by the 
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and involves a machine that pumps the algae 
from the beach out into Lake Ontario, where it breaks down in the cold, deep

Corps of Engineers, Lake Erie's water level is above the long term April

Radio tagged loons returning to Minnesota from migration

At least six of the 29 loons that have had radio and satellite telemetry 
devices placed in them by researchers have returned to their breeding lakes 
in Minnesota as of April 11, according to the Minnesota Department of

Kasich, Wachtmann reach deal on Lake Erie bill

A new version of a bill that was vetoed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich last year 
has moved one step closer to passage. The bill's sponsor, State Rep. Lynn 
Wachtmann, reached a deal with the Governor on legislation that sets limits

Portions of oil-damaged Kalamazoo River may open by summer
