Tribes oppose Michigan wolf hunt

Michigan lawmakers are considering legislation to make gray wolves a game 
species. That would make it possible to have a hunting and trapping season 
for wolves, but a number of tribes in Michigan are opposed to a wolf hunt

After a century of darkness, the Christmas Tree Ship still has stories to 
tell

Nov. 22 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Rouse Simmons, the 
famous Milwaukee-made Christmas Tree Ship that sailed Lake Michigan 
delivering trees from the Upper Peninsula to Chicago every holiday season.

Nature Abounds receives grant

The environment in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York recently received a boost 
when Nature Abounds was awarded a grant from Freshwater Future. The grant 
will help to inform local officials and the public about climate change and

MP keen to block Asian carp

Allegan fracking causes locals concern

Natural Resources leased the oil and mineral rights of more public land to

Atlantic salmon slated for stocking in northern Michigan rivers

Storm a net loss for Purdy's

Post tropical storm Sandy blew more than high waves into the Lake Huron 
shoreline of Sarnia, Ont., late last month. Purdy's Fisheries had to pull 
out more than half of its 22 trap nets, hammered by winds that peaked at
