EM:/ Updates on the Mackinac Strait pipeline issue?

Dear Maria:

It is time for Mark Schauer and Gary Peters to quarterback a
public movement in Michigan that will lead to requiring
Enbridge to remove its existing 2-line, 60+ year Line 5 installation
in the Mackinac Straits, and replacing that segment with a new
run of pipe that would be attached to Michigan's Mackinac Bridge
with engineered hangers.

At Enbridge's crossing on the St. Clair River, both Michigan and Ontario
should insist that Enbridge should be required to construct pipeline
suspension bridge crossings in that hydrological critical area as well.

I'll be writing in Daily Kos in coming weeks about why this mode
of pipeline stewardship is superior to countenancing Enbridge's
plan to continue with its existing 60+ year piping in the Mackinac Strait, and
why it is necessary for Michigan citizens to take a commanding leadership
position with an alternate vision of pipeline stewardship in effective
response to the Enbridge pipeline company.

regards, Alex Sagady

Hi, I am a student journalist at the University of Michigan and am interested in writing a story on the pipeline situation in Mackinac Strait. If anyone has any information on any recent developments (or know someone who does) I would be extremely grateful!!
