Dear Great Lakes' coastal dune enthusiasts, As a part of the national GSA meeting in Minneapolis this fall (October 9–12), Ed Hansen and I are convening the Topical Session: T136. Wind, Water, and Ice: The Geomorphology and Quaternary Geologic History of Great Lakes' Coasts This session will focus on the processes that have shaped Great Lakes' coasts, including deglaciation, lake-level change, coastal erosion, and aeolian transport, as well as the history that has resulted from these processes. The theme for the meeting is: 'the past is the key to the future' This session will encompass studies across the Quaternary timescale. Topics may range from glacial geology, deglacial lake paleogeography, lake level fluctuations and coastal aeolian studies. The purpose is to bring together researchers with a common interest in the origins of the Great Lakes landscapes, and the records of past events contained within the Great Lakes region. Currently, both talks and posters are being solicited. We look forward to you participating in this session. Abstract deadline is 26 July Other Info is available here: http://www.geosociety.org/meetings/2011/ http://www.geosociety.org/meetings/2011/program.htm http://www.geosociety.org/meetings/2011/techProg.htm Please pass this email along to anyone else you think may be interested. Best wishes, and hoping to see you in Minneapolis in early Autumn. Ed Hansen Tim Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Timothy G.
