Small Business Workshop featuring government contracts and the upcoming
workload 

DETROIT - The US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Small Business
Administration (SBA), and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME),
are hosting an all-day small business workshop focusing on federal small
business programs, the value of teaming with large businesses, and upcoming
local small business contracting opportunities. The 2009 Small Business
Workshop, will be held April 24, at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in
Harrison Twp., Mich.

The Corps, SBA and SAME along with many participants from private industry
and other government agencies will highlight local small business contracting
opportunities, including increased 2009 contract opportunities with
government agencies. 

Luncheon Keynote Speaker: Maj. Gen. (ret.) Bradley M. Lott, from the Michigan
Defense Contract Coordination Center, will discuss increased federal
government contracting and procurement opportunities for Michigan companies,
leading to new jobs and investments.

The sixth annual event, which is open to all businesses, will highlight
contract opportunities with government agencies and demonstrate how
businesses register for government contracts. This workshop is also a
networking opportunity for small businesses looking to partner with large
corporations that already have government contracts. Space is limited to 300
people so anyone interested in attending is encouraged to register early.

	Registration fee: $50 per person (includes lunch)
