GLIN==> Obey/Oberstar Compromise Saves Midwest Jobs and Protects Great Lakes Environment

Great Lakes Maritime Task Force has issued the attached news release
commenting on the U.S. EPA's Final Rule on air emissions regulations for
large vessels operating in U.S. waters.  The final rule reflects a
compromise brokered by Congressmen Dave Obey (D-WI) and Jim Oberstar
(D-MN) that saves tens of thousands of jobs dependent on Great Lakes
shipping while maintaining unprecedented new air quality requirements
for the Great Lakes region.
