Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission

GLIN's June Site of the Month is the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC), an agency of 11 Ojibwe nations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, with off-reservation treaty rights to hunt, fish and gather in treaty-ceded lands. GLIFWC is celebrating its 25th anniversary of providing natural resource management expertise, conservation enforcement, legal and policy analysis, and public information services. Its mission is to help ensure significant, off-reservation harvests while protecting the resources for generations to come.

The Canadian Aquatic Invasive Species Network (CAISN)

CAISN is conducting Canada's first comprehensive study to examine and identify aquatic invasions with the goal to prevent new invasive species from harming Canada's ecosystems.
Canada and United States Committed to Amend Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement

The Government of Canada and the United States recently announced their joint intention to amend the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, which affirms the rights and obligations of Canada and the U.S. under the Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909.
