This position is located in the U.S. Section of the International Joint Commission <http://www.ijc.org/en/home/main_accueil.htm> , United States and Canada, U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C. The Ecologist provides expert senior level science and policy advice related to ecology, ecosystem theory, environmental monitoring and surveillance, ecological indicators of condition, general biology and chemistry, environmental toxicology, and environmental and human health issues of emerging concern to the Commission; and integrates contemporary ecological understanding into the implementation of the Boundary Waters Treaty, Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, and other ongoing Commission responsibilities along the United States and Canada boundaries. Provides senior staff liaison, support, guidance, and advice to the Commission boards and other advisory bodies established to undertake work related to the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.
