Summit for Urban Stakeholders in the Great Lakes Region

A summit entitled, Great Lakes Metros and the New Opportunity, will
convene in Buffalo, New York, on June 18-19. The summit is designed for
urban advocates, non-governmental organizations, local, state and
federal officials, and other stakeholders from Great Lakes metro
communities seeking to use the stimulus bill and other federal support
to promote sustainable and equitable cities.

Topics include the expansion of weatherization and green jobs, models
for regional governance, innovative uses of NSP funds, and Great Lakes
restoration. Attendees will gain a birds-eye-view of trends in their
field, learn best practice strategies for ensuring maximum impact for
older industrial cities, and explore opportunities to influence the
direction of future federal support.
