Davis is a former co-chairman of the Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition. Commenting on the appointment, Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition campaign manager Jeff Skelding said: “The appointment of Cameron Davis to help oversee the restoration of the Great Lakes will benefit the Lakes and the people and businesses which depend on them. “We congratulate Davis in his new post, and applaud the Obama Administration for filling this important position. Davis understands the serious threats facing the Great Lakes and has worked tirelessly during his career to advance solutions that protect the Lakes, safeguard public health and create jobs. “The appointment of Davis to this position fulfills yet another commitment that President Obama made during his campaign to restore the largest fresh water resource in the world and continues the momentum being generated in the White House and the U.S. Congress to advance Great Lakes restoration and economic recovery. “In short, Cameron Davis is a strong appointment. We look forward to working with him, the Obama Administration and Congress to advance the new $475 million Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, before the problems get worse and more costly.
