DELIVERING CONSERVATION, TODAY AND TOMORROW

SWCS 64th Annual International Conference
July 11 - 15, 2009

"Delivering Conservation, Today and Tomorrow" is the theme of the Soil and Water Conservation Society's 64th?Annual International Conference to be held July 11-15 at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, MIchigan.? The conference includes workshops, concurrent sessions, symposia, posters, plenary sessions, and technical tours designed to raise the awareness of conference participants to recent developments in the science and art of natural resource conservation and environmental management on working land -- the largely privately-owned land comprising working farms, ranches, forests and rural and urban? communites.

Highlights of the conference include:

* "Emerald Ash Borer and the Conservation Consequences" during the Fellows forum, Sunday, July 12.

* The H. Wayne Prithard Lecture by USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack during the Opening Plenary on Monday, July 13.

*? Screening of "Dirt! The Movie" Monday evening.

*? "Can CEAP (Conservation Effects Assessment Project) Help us Deliver more Conservation" during the Special Plenary, Tuesday morning, July 14.

*? Seven Outdoor Classroom - Educational tours on Wednesday, July 15.

*? The Conservation Innovation Grants Showcase, Monday and Tuesday.

*? Three Technical Workshops on Sunday.

*? Two exam review courses and three EnviroCert Exams (CPESC/CPSWQ/CESSWI).

*? Over 20 Symposia, nearly 100 Oral Presentations and many Poster Presentations and Exhibits.

Over 430 resource professionals have aleady registered for this conference, but there is plenty of room for more.? The deadline for advanced registration is July 2nd.
