Final Call for Abstracts - Deadline Extended to July 8th

Please join us for the 6th biennial Lake Michigan: State of the Lake and 9th annual Great Lakes Beach Association Conference.  The joint conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency, located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, near the famed Riverwalk, on September 29 - October 1, 2009.  The deadline for submitting presentation or poster abstracts has been extended from June 26th until July 8th.  Please refer to the conference website for submittal instructions (www.aqua.wisc.edu/solm<http://www.aqua.wisc.edu/solm>) and a list of sessions and chairs. The conference includes plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, keynote luncheons, posters, exhibits, field tours, a poster reception and an evening reception at the Discovery World's Great Lakes exhibit and aquarium.  A meeting of the U.S. Areas of Concern also will join the conference on October 1 - 2 with additional plenary and break-out sessions designed to help AOCs plan for Great Lakes Restoration Initiative projects and build local stewardship capacity. The conference brings together elected officials, scientists, resource managers, planners, students, educators and citizens working to improve Great Lakes beaches and Lake Michigan.
