The Great Lakes Interagency Task Force has released a list of programs and projects proposed for funding under President Obama's proposed $475 million Great Lakes Restoration Initiative: http://epa.gov/greatlakes/glri/2010GLRIProgramsProjects.pdf The list is organized under the five focus areas being addressed by the Initiative: * Accountability, Monitoring, Evaluation, Communication, and Partnerships * Habitat and Wildlife Protection and Restoration * Invasive Species * Nearshore Health and Nonpoint Source * Toxic Substances and Areas of Concern Within each focus projects are listed by agency, with a title and brief description, and the provisional funding level for fiscal year 2010. Whether the proposed programs and projects are actually funded depends upon actual appropriations and the development of Interagency Agreements consistent with the principles and criteria of the Initiative. A substantial portion of the proposed funding will be administered through grants, contracts and project agreements. U.S. EPA and other federal agencies may release requests for proposals as early as this summer. Additional information and documents on the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative are available from U.S. EPA's website at http://epa.gov/greatlakes/glri/index.html. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
