GLIN==> FW: GLMTF Names NY Congressman Higgins Named Great Lakes Legislator of the Year

Great Lakes Maritime Task Force has today named New York Congressman
Brian M. Higgins (D) Great Lakes Legislator of the Year.  The award
recognizes his support for Great Lakes shipping, examples of which
include voting for the Water Resources Development Act of 2007, which
called for accelerated dredging of Great Lakes ports and construction of
a second Poe-sized Lock at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, at full Federal
expense.  The award will be formally presented at the Task Force's
Briefing for the Great Lakes Delegation in Washington on April 2.
